Will there be support for students in these classes?

Yes! Regardless of where you are, academic support is available. Faculty are available during office hours and by appointment; the Center for Student Learning offers tutoring and Supplemental Instruction (SI) in a wide variety of course subjects; students who need additional support can attend study skills workshops, work with a Peer Academic Coach, or seek assistance in the Center for Academic Performance and Persistence (CAPP).

Can students take all classes online?

Not all courses are offered online. Look carefully at the location and attribute designations for each course and course section in the Course Offerings list. Only course sections designated ONLINE are taught entirely online and do not require students to be on-campus.

Can a student take all classes in person?

Only the course types listed above, with few exceptions are offered face to face, in-person.  Because of the pandemic, very few courses will be offered entirely in-person.  Hybrid courses offer an opportunity to meet in-person when conditions permit and offer the flexibility to meet virtually as well.

Are there classes that allow students to learn at their own pace?

While some online courses allow students to access course lectures and material on their own schedules, all classes have due dates and deadlines established by the professor. All courses begin and end on the dates established by the Spring 2021 academic calendar.

What support is provided for faculty to adapt to these learning modalities?

The Teaching and Learning Team (TLT) provides a host of faculty services, including one-on-one consultations, technology resources, training and workshops, and OAKS training.
